Top class music on offer in Jazzland
ON Saturday the Stan Tracey Quartet will perform the leader's new suite, A Child's Christmas Jazz Suite, inspired by Dylan Thomas's short story, in the Dylan Thomas Centre, as mentioned elsewhere in Going Out.
Swansea Jazzland will hold their annual Members General Meeting, next Tuesday from 7pm in the St James Social Club, Uplands, and this will be followed by their monthly sitters-in night.
On the following evening at the same venue Swansea Jazzland present Jeff Hooper with his quintet, which will include Danny Moss Junior on double bass.
Jeff is best remembered for his years in the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, but subsequently he became even more popular with his broadcasts and live appearances with the BBC Big Band.
