We back cig campaign
SMOKING in cars seriously harms children. That's why we are very pleased to see the Welsh Government's new campaign highlighting the dangers of smoking in cars with children. BLF has called for this campaign. We also believe we need to keep open the option of a ban.
It's really important, however, that we also support smokers who want to quit. Most smokers say they want to give up. But this is a lot easier said than done. Tobacco is extremely addictive, which makes giving up very difficult. That's why we want to see a big boost for "Stop Smoking" services across Wales, to help people who are trying to kick the habit.
If you're a smoker who wants to quit, try the Stop Smoking Wales Helpline on 0800 085 2219. Or go to freshstartwales.co.uk and order a Quit Kit. You can also ask your GP or pharmacist for help.

“I'M not a smoker or a driver but it seems to me that exhaust fumes are doing far more harm to everyone's health than afew smokers, what really annoys me are the hippocrites who whine about people smoking then drive around in a car polluting the air for everyone else.”

“For pity's sake will the 'ban it brigade' just give us a break for a couple of years? You can't open the papers nowadays without reading of something else they want to ban.”
