Name change at uni
IT is all change from today at Swansea Met as the university adopts a new name.
It is now called University of Wales Trinity St David, Swansea to reflect its merger with the University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD).
The shift is being hailed by the university board as the beginning of a new era of expanded opportunities for students, as it becomes part of a wider network of educational bodies with established links with employers and with industry.
The university's campuses across the city are being rebranded with the new logo as a new academic year begins.
Pro-vice-chancellor Ian Wells said: "This is an exciting time for higher education within the city.
"We consider ourselves as having a key role to play delivering economic benefits to the region and promoting the city."
