FANS have called for stability after Swansea City FC lost its second manager in 13 months.

Paulo Sousa quit the club yesterday to join fellow Championship team Leicester.

He spent one season at the Liberty Stadium, taking over from Roberto Martinez, who left to manage Premiership side Wigan in June last year.

Fans have called on the next manager to stay with the Swans for the long-haul.

One fan said: “We need someone to stick around for more than one year and build a relationship with the club and the fans.”

They say they want to see someone who is loyal to the club and passionate about Swansea.

Nigel Whittaker, of Sandfields, Swansea, said he would like to see a local person take over.

“Chris Coleman would be my choice,” he said.

“He’s a Townhill boy and he would be passionate about the club and he knows Swansea.

“I think Sousa left for the money.”

The Post hit the streets of Swansea to find out what people thought of Swans manager Paulo Sousa’s departure for Leicester:

“He’ll get more money in Leicester. In any job you can get promoted, but in football you get a hard time from fans.”

Laurie Lacey- Hastings, 19, Swansea

“It’s a pity he’s leaving when we were doing so well and football is good for the city. It would be good if he had stayed longer than a year. I think they should be contracted to stay at a club longer.”

Andrea Evans, 35, Penlan, Swansea

“I’m confused as to why a big club with a fantastic stadium can’t keep a manager for long, Perhaps that’s something for the chairman to look at and why we can’t attract big names. Gary Speed is a big name to take over and I think he would be inspirational.

Mike Green, aged 45, Winch Wen, Swansea.

“I would like to see someone stay around longer. Chris Coleman would be good — he’s a local boy who could get Swansea back to where they need to be.”

Brian Jones, 52, Copper Quarter, Swansea

“Last year they couldn’t score goals. They need someone new. Sousa didn’t make the changes in January when he should have.”

Nigel Whittaker, 40, Sandfields, Swansea

“He’s got us this far.

“It would have been nice to see him stick around a bit longer.”

Kieran Smith, 19, Mount Pleasant, Swansea

“If this means they get someone better, then it’s for the best. We need somebody with experience and somebody with passion.”

Jamie Sturley, 20, Clydach, Swansea

    “John Davies,

Frankly, you haven't got a clue what you're on about. You talk about Swansea as if we ahould be competing with the big clubs in this league i.e. Boro, Sheff Utd, Derby, Hull, Pompey, Burnley. You are out of your mind if you think that we should be competing financially with these clubs, I could probably list a few more in the division as well who have far bigger resources than us. For goodness's sake, take a look at that lot 40 miles down the M4 and look where it's got them.

    Get a grip on reality.”

“You can not blame managers for leaving the swans. The question must be asked when is Huw Jenkins and the board are going to put money into the Swans,so that managers the manager who ever it may be can go into the transfere market and compete for better players in order to win promotion. We have been up and their amongst the top teams and come back down through lack of investment. So come on Jenkins put the club up for sale and lets get some one in who as got the money to take this club forward.”

“Why dont you speak to Swans fans who actually go to matches ? Anyone could stop a stranger in the road and ask them a question.
The answers show that the people asked arnt even Swans fans.
    Lazy reporting !!”
