'This is bigger than winning the Ashes'
SIMON Jones has described the feeling of reaching a Lord's final with his home county as bigger than winning an Ashes series with England.
There were euphoric scenes on Saturday evening as Glamorgan claimed a 31-run victory over defending YB40 champions Hampshire at Southampton's Ageas Bowl.
The Welsh county will play either Nottinghamshire or Somerset — who meet at Trent Bridge today — in a showpiece finale at Lord's on Saturday, September 21.
And Jones has lauded the achievement as one of the biggest of his career — with club and country.
"It's huge, isn't it? I have played at Lord's a few times with England, but never with Glamorgan. It is one of those things that I have always wanted to do, represent Glamorgan in a final," said the 34-year-old fast bowler.
"How does it compare to the Ashes? I will be honest with you, I reckon it is bigger.
"You look at an England team, it is the cream of the crop, it is as good as you get and we had the cream of a crop.
