'We must be at our best'
RHYS Priestland has warned the Scarlets that only the best will be good enough when they visit Harlequins in the Heineken Cup this afternoon.
The West Wales region head to the Stoop after an indifferent start to their Pro12 campaign.
They have won just two of their opening three games and suffered home defeats to Leinster and Glasgow.
But Wales fly-half Priestland believes the Scarlets must quickly iron out any deficiencies in their game if they are to make an impact in their group.
He said: "We are going to have to be at our best every single game to even get a few points out of this group because we are right up against it.
"We are a proud group, every time we lose we go into the changing room and everyone is gutted because everyone wants to do well for this club.
"We know against Glasgow we weren't at our best but we were lucky that Glasgow didn't really punish us.
"We know if we are anywhere off our best today it could be a bit of a hiding because we know how good they are and the players they have.
"There is no better time to put that intense performance in than the first round of the Heineken Cup."
The Scarlets pack have surprised many this season, with their scrum in particular proving to be a powerful weapon.
Priestland added: "They have given us a platform and as backs we have been inaccurate, we haven't had the intensity we need to have.
"We work hard every week and have been a couple of per cent off in every game.
"Training has been really sharp and everyone will be looking to go out and put a performance in we know we can."
British Lion Jonathan Davies will skipper the Scarlets and teams up in the centre with the returning Scott Williams. The exciting Jordan Williams is named on the left wing, with Rhodri Williams getting the nod at scrum-half.
Up front, Josh Turnbull features at No. 8 with Rob McCusker sidelined through injury.
