Comment My first lunch in Crusts and my, what a belter of a place this is!

I've never really noticed this little independent before. But after sampling one of its lunch deals, I wish I had.

Inside, it's vibrant and full of positive energy. There was also plenty to choose from with vegetarians unusually well catered for.

I opted for a meal deal which offered a cold drink, baguette and either a bag of top-end crisps or popcorn at £2.79.

Decisions, decisions over a filling. But finally, chicken and stuffing.

I am going to stick my neck out here and say it was probably one of the best versions of this lunchtime treat as you are ever likely to find. The bread, in particular, was faultless.

Queues are long during peak hours, but smiley and knowledgeable staff are so fast it won't take long. I was in and out in under three minutes. Brilliant!
