Well done on athletics coup
THE very warmest possible congratulations must be given to the organisers who have secured Swansea for next August's International Paralympics Committee Athletics European Championships, particularly since this is the first time these games have been held in Great Britain.
They will be held in the city university's sports village for one week. This facility, used by the New Zealand and Mexican Paralympic contestants as a warm-up for the 2012 Paralympic Games, was highly regarded for its first class provision.
It would appear that all the Welsh competitors are eagerly looking forward to participating, on home turf, so to speak.
We cannot but admire their courage and determination and look forward to their opening parade, wearing the fabulous T-shirts displaying a truly iconic Paralympic motive logo.
I hope and wish that everyone will give maximum support to our brave, enthusiastic athletes and other ambitious contestants and wish them all possible success, now and through the future.
