Why address Post readers?
I AM sure I am not the only Post reader who was perturbed by G William's recent letter concerning Welsh being spoken in his presence in Llanelli (Have Your Say, October 15).
Why on earth should he find people speaking Welsh in a Welsh town such an apparently troubling experience?
Would he, for example, react in the same manner if he visited Germany or France and people spoke German or French in his presence?
Regarding his queries about his friend's conduct, surely they should be addressed to the friend in question — rather than the entire readership of the Post?

“So apparently someone who is willing to hear the other persons point of view, as evidenced by my comment 'I'm listening', is given 2 red arrows.
Which proves the point I was making that only censorship will suit some ' liberals' on here!”

“But Gwyddno the alternative is only allowing people to write in who are pre - accepted, in other words exactly the situation that existed in Stalinist Russia and Nazi Germany.”

“What you need to ask Leigh is, why does the EP continually publish letters from the Usual Suspects, such as G Williams, on the topic of the Welsh language?
I have doubts about event that Mr. Williams wrote about.”

“Mr/Mrs Richards. I suggest you read the letter again. It wasn't about language, although you are trying to make it so - it was about someone who was having a conversation with a friend suddenly being ignored and rejected when a third party joined them.
And I can assure you all the time I've been abroad speaking in English to someone, if someone else joins us they make an attempt at English so as not to offend me. It's about manners and how you treat people, if you think the behaviour outlined in the original letter was acceptable I suggest that tells us more about you than the writer.”
