A NEW youth project is encouraging youngsters from different backgrounds to socialise together.

The Reaching Out project is run by the Ethnic Youth Support Team (EYST) at the drop-in youth centre on St Helen's Road.

The project buses in pupils from Pentrehafod and Dylan Thomas comprehensive schools to the youth centre after school a couple of times a week. Youth worker Mathew Hopkins, said: "We want young people to enjoy time at EYST but acknowledge that young people from different areas could find it difficult to get here."
