Younger drivers are more safety aware thanks to scheme
YOUNG drivers have been taking part in a course to help take their skills up a gear.
Eight youngsters signed up to the Pass Plus Cymru scheme which was hosted by Carmarthenshire Community Fire Safety Department and Carmarthenshire Road Safety Department at Ammanford Fire Station on Monday night.
A workshop session formed the first part of the initiative, where Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service were on hand to talk about road traffic collisions from the emergency service's point of view.
Community Fire Safety Officer Steve Winstone said: "The service is clearly a great advocate of the scheme as we see a high volume of road traffic collisions involving young drivers."
The scheme is being aimed at 17 to 25-year-olds to improve their driving technique and hazard awareness.
