Young talent takes the stage
SWANSEA featured a feast of young talent in the final of the Dunvant Male Choir-organised event.
Four finalists performed along with last year's winner Catherine Mort.
Amy Whittle, from Cardiff, Aled Powys Williams, from Betws, and Lucy Marie Phillips, from Ebbw Vale, were the runners up, each receiving a £250 cash prize.
The winner was Michael Riseley, from Llansamlet, Swansea, who won the £1,000 cash prize and the trophy.
Sixteen varied and entertaining items were sung by the four contestants, with Michael's Mama Says from Footloose, most memorable.
Claire Hammacott, Tim Rhys Evans, Ken Caswell and Tim Richards were the eminent adjudicating panel, with Jeffrey Howard accompanying all artistes.
Catherine Mort, having been awarded the Sir Michael Redgrave Scholarship in her first year at the Guildford School of Acting, performed three items in the event with maturity and poise.
Dunvant Male Choir provided eight items from their music theatre repertoire.
