Y Strade in RL finals
LLANELLI school Ysgol y Strade landed a place in the Champion Schools Welsh rugby league finals after an impressive performance in their last tournament.
The Year 11 team beat St Joseph's RC school, scoring a try in the first five minutes.
The Port Talbot school regrouped, but the effort needed, including about 100 tackles in the first 25 minutes, proved too much as Strade extended a 22-4 half-time lead to win 42-16.
Wales rugby league development officer Jon Ellis said: "It was a great game to watch and both sides did really well technically. This is Strade's first year in the sport and I'm really impressed with their attitude and enthusiasm."
