Work has begun on community garden in Aberavon
A COMMUNITY garden in Aberavon is taking shape.
Kathryn Britton from Keep Wales Tidy told residents at an Aberavon Pact meeting that work had begun on the garden.
The project, which has been funded by Environment Wales and the NPT Renewal Area, is being created in Sandfields Road.

"We have a really tight budget."
She added: "There will be CCTV cameras going in.
"They will be overlooking the garden.
"At the moment we don't have the funds for a gate.
"The gate will be the second stage of the project.
"There are not going to be any benches in there."
One resident said there were issues with fly-tipping nearby.
Ms Britton said: "We are hoping the garden will avert some of the fly-tipping that has been going on there."
Another resident said: "I feel sorry for the flowers as they won't be there long."
