Women's network aims to 'empower'
AN all-Wales women's network is set to be established to represent voices and views of the women.
A call for proposals to set up a network has now been announced by Finance Minister Jane Hutt.
The role of the network will be to enhance the influence of women in Welsh society, to empower individuals to achieve change and to promote equality of opportunity.
The network will also work to develop ways in which to ensure women can influence the strategies and policies which affect them.
Minister for Finance and Leader of the House, Jane Hutt, who has responsibility for equalities, said:
"It is essential that the voice of each and every person in Wales is heard, particularly on the policy making that will directly affect them. This is why I'm delighted to start the ball rolling in providing funding for an all Wales Women's Network"
"I look forward to working closely with the organisations that will eventually make up the network, and will highly value their views, professionalism and experience in this area."
