Woman rescued after getting stranded on Newport riverbank
A woman was rescued by fire crews in the early hours of this morning after becoming stranded on a Newport riverbank.
Two South Wales Fire and Rescue teams from Malpas were called to an area near the Kingsway's Riverfront Theatre just after 1am.
They used ladders to reach the woman, before bringing her safely back to land.
The fire service said the woman was uninjured.
