Wizards switch focus to vital league run-in
ABERAVON will aim to bounce back from a British and Irish Cup hammering when they return to Premiership action at home to Llandovery tonight (7.15).
The Wizards were thumped 62-0 in Ulster as their first taste of the new cross-border competition ended on a sour note.
That came after an encouraging campaign in which Simon King's side won two of their five Pool C matches and were only narrowly beaten by English Championship outfit Bedford in another.
But focus now switches back to the league as they welcome the Drovers to the Talbot Athletic Ground.
In-form Llandovery can leapfrog seventh-placed Aberavon with victory, though the Wizards have played three fewer games than their opponents and are gearing up for a hectic end to the season.
The Wizards have at least nine more games to play before the WRU fixture deadline on April 20, and King is expected to continue his rotation policy as he attempts to cope with the demands of that schedule.
