A £12m lottery jackpot winner has gone back to work - as landlady of her local pub in a Welsh village,

Multi-millionairess Sandra Fosbrooke used her fortune to save The Stag when it was forced to close at Five Roads near Llanelli.

Now Sandra, aged 48, works a 12-hour day cooking bar meals, serving customers and washing beer glasses at the village inn.

Sandra was a regular at the pub and knew it was the hub of the tiny Welsh village community where she lives.

So she gave up her life of lottery luxury and leisure to put on a pinnie and start pulling pints.

Blonde Sandra said: "I was a bit fed up with doing nothing and there's only so many holidays you can take.

"When the chance came to take over the pub I jumped at it.

"I was determined to keep my feet on the ground and at the same time put something back into the community."

Sandra and her partner Ken Henry, aged 62, enjoyed popping into The Stag after moving into a £1.2m home following their £12.8m Lotto win.

And when it closed the pair missed their regular visits for a pint and a gin and tonic along with the friendly banter of the locals.

So Sandra decided to take over the tenancy of the pub and ploughed thousands of pounds into giving it a much needed facelift.

And former supermarket checkout assistant Sandra is now definitely the hostess with the mostest at the pub in the former mining village of Five Roads.

She runs it as a family affair with son Matthew, aged 23, his partner Debbie Bradder, also aged 23, and Debbie's mum Carol, aged 48.

After serving 30 pub lunches yesterday Sandra wiped her brown and said: "It was a shame when the pub shut and I decided to try to revive it.

"I'm loving every minute of it, my family are all helping out too and the village social life is on the up since we reopened."

Sandra reckons she could show the Old Vic's Peggy Mitchell a thing or two after learning how to change barrels, pull a pint and make steak-and-ale pie, liver and onions, and fish and chips.

Villager Graham Jones said: "It's a really homely, sociable pub which is very welcoming and it's put the life back into the village.

"You would never think from the way that Sandra bustles around that she is worth millions- but that's the sort of person she is.

"There are no airs and graces about her- she just gets on with the job"

And one regular said: "She makes a mean chicken pie - it's gorgeous - and her bread and butter pudding melts in the mouth."

Ken also went back to work as a £5-an-hour bingo caller at his local rugby club where he worked before the couple's mammoth win.

“Good for Sandra. Here's someone who has enough faith in her abilities to help the community. May your beer never sour and your customers be ever loyal.”
