Wind power makes no sense at all!
ANYONE who has seen recent press reports or BBC television's Countryfile on Sunday will be aware of the fact there are enormous deposits of shale gas below the South Lancashire Plain, especially in the Blackpool/ Preston area.
Exploration for these deposits has already commenced with the blessing of the Westminster Government. Therefore, by what sort of insane logic does it make sense to erect up to 800 gigantic wind turbines in Mid and North Wales to supply the very same area of South Lancashire with sporadic electricity?
The area is massively overflowing with cheap, abundant energy for decades to come . . . right beneath its very feet!
Do people realise that even if Powys, Clwyd, Meirioneth and North Ceredigion are completely wrecked with the erection of 700 wind turbines 475 feet high, they will only generate half a megawatt each on average — or 350MW in total?
There should be an immediate moratorium on all wind farms in Wales. If shale gas fracking goes ahead as proposed by the Government , wind energy makes no sense whatsoever!
