FORMER Wales Under-20s centre Rhys Williams has secured a professional contract with French division one club Nevers.

Williams scored 15 tries and made 58 appearances over two season for Llandovery and leaves with the Drovers' best wishes.

Coach Lyndon Lewis rated him the best No. 12 in the Premiership over the past two years, while chairman Handel Davies added: ''Rhys has proved to be one of our most consistent performers and must be unlucky not to have been offered a place in the Scarlets squad.''

Williams, 22, added: ''This was an opportunity that I couldn't turn down.

''I wanted a change of scene and to progress as a player.''

Williams has signed a two-year contract.
