ANIMAL issues were the order of the day during campaigning for South Wales Police commissioner.

Independent candidate Mike Baker and Labour candidate Alun Michael both dropped in to Swansea's Lush shop — which sells ethically sourced beauty and toiletry products — to meet staff and customers.

Mr Baker said he was keen to hear people's views on animal welfare and wildlife crime.

He said: "It is sad to see the way some people treat animals, either pets or farm animals, there have been cases where horses have been attacked.
