Wife reveals ordeal after Bryn horror crash
THE wife of a Llanelli crash victim has spoken of his battle from the brink of death, and the overwhelming support the family has had from the community.
Phil Davies, a father-of-two, of Bryn Terrace, Seaside, is recovering from what his family described as life-threatening injuries, after he was involved in a serious collision in Bryn on January 9.
His wife, Lynsey, has revealed that immediately after, the hospital nursing team suggested that his children be called to say goodbye, such was the severity of his injuries, which included broken hips, pelvis, ribs and arms.
He also broke his arm in two places and suffered internal bleeding for a week after the crash, forcing medics to induce a coma.

Since the crash, 37-year-old Mr Davies has undergone several blood transfusions and life-threatening operations
Mrs Davies said she was unsure what impact the injuries would have in the long term, adding: "It may have even caused him loss to some memory."
Mr Davies is being treated in the high dependency unit at the Heath Hospital, Cardiff, where he is in a stable condition, and where Mrs Davies has been maintaining a bedside vigil since he was admitted.
Mrs Davies also spoke of the impact of the crash on their children, Katie, 16, and Henry, 4.
"Our daughter Katie needs us now more than ever as she is in her final year at Stradey school sitting her GCSEs," she said.
"And Henry is missing us both as he doesn't understand why he can't be with Daddy and Mammy, and why Daddy can't come home.
"Even though our life has taken a 180 degree turn for the worst, we are overwhelmed with what the hospital staff and people at home are doing for us."
