SWANSEA have been told they must reproduce their early-season style if they are to remain at the sharp end of the Welsh Premiership.

The Whites remain second in the table following the postponement of their clash with Cardiff at St Helen's.

But it hasn't been enough to escape criticism from head coach Richard Webster, who was critical of his side after their bonus point win against local rivals Llanelli last weekend.

Team manager Ian Hopkins also believes that unless Swansea start putting in the type of performances that saw them rocket to the league summit in September, they will come unstuck.

"We've had a couple of in-depth chats with the boys," said Hopkins.

"It's a case of being very happy with where we are in the table.

"We're very happy to be winning games and picking up bonus points, but at the start of the season we were picking up bonus points and playing well.

"We're not going to be able to get the results we want against the top teams if we keep producing similar displays to what we've been producing.

"At the moment certain individuals are not doing what they're supposed to and good sides will find us out."

Swansea sit 12 points ahead of third place Pontypridd as the top two appear to be breaking away from the pack.

But Hopkins insists the league is far from a two-horse race.

"Ten points is only two bonus-point wins and you only have to look at Llanelli last year to see how things can change," he added.

"Three-quarters of the way through the season they were clear at the top but after a few losses they fell away altogether.

"If we have ambitions to win the league we can't afford to sit back."
