No Welsh takers?
LABOUR has claimed the new Welsh Secretary was forced to appoint an English MP as his ministerial aide because he could not persuade any of his colleagues in Wales to take on the job.
Polish-born Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski was made David Jones's parliamentary private secretary as a result of last week's Government reshuffle.

The PPS to the Sec of State covers for when the Minister is not in the House.
Does the Chief Exec of RyanAir take charge of Virgin Airlines when Richard Branson is in his hot-air balloon?"
------------------------
You are missing the point. MPs work for the country, not just their parties. The PPS makes no decisions at all, simply makes sure things are implemented according to official departmental guidelines.
A more sensible analogy would be an assistant manager of a store stepping in to cover for a manager of a smaller one when needed.
Bi-party working is in fact reasonably common across some committees and I see no issue with this post being one of those. It would certainly show some progression.”

It's not the point.
The point is that the Sec of State for Wales could not get a Tory MP with a seat in Wales to volunteer.”

“Obviously Welsh Tory MP's know this is a poisoned chalice, and don't want to go anywhere near this job. More of a case of keeping their heads down and praying they don't get the boot in 2015”
