ARE your readers aware that shoppers to Parc Fforestfach Retail Park are only allowed three hours' parking?

In the last three weeks two family members and a friend have received, through the post, excess maximum stay time fines of £75 each.

You will receive this fine through the post with a picture of your vehicle, as there are now cameras which record the time you enter and leave.

So be warned, do not have a pizza, do not have a coffee, do not think of searching for a possible holiday bargain, do not browse for an ideal Christmas gift for a treasured family member or take advantage of any tempting offers available.

Resist the tempting aromas of the sizzling meals in the local supermarket just do the regular weekly family shop and escape within the allowed timeslot or that well-deserved coffee could prove very costly.

Once again Big Brother is alive and fine(ing) us all, so Merry Christmas, bah humbug.

“Private companys can not issue fines in the Uk, its against UK contract law.

These so called fines should be ignored, as only the landowner can charge for something called a genuine pre estimate of loss, if you overstay in a free car park then that loss is zero, and the charge notice is unenforcable and shouldnt be paid.

If you start to get letters threating all sorts of hell and damnation you can safly ignore them and file them in the bin, or better in the bottom of a drawer. If in doubrt have a look at the parking forums at money saving experts dot com, and pepipoo, also take a look at the BBC watchdog clips on youtube, where the official advice is to fold the ticket into a paper plane and throw it away.

Wise up people, these private parking tickets are not fines, they are un enforcable speculative invoices, and should nto be paid.
also if anyone gets these tickets and feels they are being harrased, the car park owner, as well as the parking company could be liable for harrasment as the car park owner is responsable for the actions of their agents ( such as a private parking compnay)
These tickets rely upon an impersantion of authority, which the private parking companys do not have, they are fake.”

“It's nothing new, Tesco have been raking in fines like this for years. Can't say I understand anyone needing to spend over 3 hours in that place - it ain't exactly Bond Street is it ?”
