Wartime defences in focus
A TALK will be held about Mumbles headland defences during the Second World War on Saturday evening.
John Powell, of Oystermouth Historical Association, will recount his memories of life in wartime Mumbles from those serving in the Royal Artillery, the Home Guard, WRENS and the ATS (Auxiliary Territorial Service).
Discoveries
In an illustrated talk to the Gower Society, he will reveal discoveries that were made concerning the anti-aircraft battery, the coastal defence batteries on the hill and Lighthouse Island.
