Warm way to greet people
WHAT a heart-warming picture portrayed in the Post (February 14) of Swansea's newest citizens.
The Gundu family, late of Zimbabwe, chose to settle in Swansea over 10 years ago. I would imagine it was a very wise and safe, satisfying move on their behalf from their previous troubled country, under the control of President Mugabe.
I'm glad that the Gundu family have fitted into the welcoming and comparably easy-going, friendly community which make Swansea such a comforting city to live in.
A total of 29 people were officially welcomed into British citizenship and a warm Welsh way of life. Not seeing or reading about this ceremony for a number of years I feared this official method of shoehorning foreign settlers into our society had been abandoned, so well done to the Lord Mayor together with other civic dignitaries for adding the weight of officialdom to this very important and memorable ceremony of welcome.
