Wales boss Chris Coleman proposes at Gower beauty spot
WALES boss Chris Coleman is to tie the knot with Sky Sports presenter Charlotte Jackson after proposing at a Gower beauty spot.
The former Swans player, who hails from Mayhill, said Rhossili proved the perfect backdrop.
“I chose Rhossili because it’s a beautiful spot,” Coleman journalists at a Wales press conference today.
“Where I’m from in the centre of Swansea didn’t seem quite so romantic.”
Jackson had broken the news that she had accepted Coleman’s proposal on Twitter.
The Welsh boss turned up for Wednesday’s conference expecting to talk about the squad for forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Macedonia and Serbia.
He joked: “It’s nice to be distracted from Baley (Gareth Bale) to be honest, normally it’s all about him.
“She tweeted the news yesterday and I’m delighted.”
The couple have been dating since last year.
They were first spotted together at the Liberty.
Jackson has worked on Setanta Sports and appeared in reality shows 71 Degrees North and Tom Daley’s Splash, where she reached the semi-finals despite breaking her toe.
“In my career I’ve always had to punch above my weight and I think I’m punching above my weight now,” said Coleman who has also worked for Sky Sports.
“I asked her last week, after the Ireland game. “We went down to Rhossili, down on the coast, I popped the question and she said yes.
“I had to have a conversation with her parents first, which is the old fashioned way.
“Charlotte (Jackson) was born in Liverpool but moved down to Hampshire with her family when she was three.
“We’ve set a date privately, but she may tweet that tonight and everyone will know about it.”
