MICHEL Vorm has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move away from the Liberty, insisting he and Swansea City are a perfect fit.

The Dutchman has earned rave reviews since his £1.5 million summer move from Utrecht.

Vorm has been one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, and grabbed the headlines with crucial penalty saves against Wigan and Fulham.

Last week, Swansea director John van Zweden claimed Chelsea and Manchester United were among a number of clubs who had enquired about the 28-year-old's availability in this month's transfer window.

Swansea later dismissed that suggestion, stressing their desire to hang on to the player.

Now Vorm has revealed he is keen to remain in South Wales.

"I think if you do well in the Premier League maybe some clubs will follow you, but for me it's not an issue," he said.

"I love it here at Swansea. I'm enjoying my time and I haven't really thought about it (leaving).

"My focus is on Swansea.

"The main thing for me is to maintain my form throughout the whole season and to stay up with Swansea." Vorm made a series of excellent saves during an opening defeat to Manchester City, and again at Anfield as Swansea shut out Liverpool to claim a point.

But he is quick to point out that Swansea's team ethic has been key to his achievements.

"For me it's quite new and quite special what's happened," said the stopper.

"For a goalkeeper it's very hard to fit in when you come to the Premier League.

"But for me the team is very important, the way we play.

"I think if I played at somewhere like Stoke City it would be quite difficult for me to fit in.

"If the team is good, I will play much better."

Vorm also hailed the part Brendan Rodgers has played in his success story so far.

The Swansea manager took his time when searching for a new goalkeeper following Dorus de Vries's departure to Wolves.

He signed Vorm less than a week before the start of the campaign, but the nine-cap Dutch international took no time to settle.

"We are one of the few clubs trying to play from the back which is very important," added Vorm.

"Also there's the way we train. I love working with Brendan Rodgers. Those kind of things are important to me. My feeling is very good at Swansea.

"It's not like I'd never change teams, but at the moment Swansea suits me the best."

“Just heard Arsenal are chasing him now.

Huw jenkins really needs to lock down about 7 players/STAFF are SCFC to ensure if they are tempted away we will get a big enough pay off to replace them.

Vorm is obviously going places and could be a real money maker if we sell him.

We would need to spend a LOT more than that to repalce him.”

“Michel, lovely to read your comments. Top keeper, great signing. Glad that you feel at home with the team and manager. Shame a certain Swan's director dosen't have your qualities. I know who I would keep when money rears it's ugly head.”

“Vorm can't go anywhere! At least until the end of the season...

Isn't there a premier league rule that they cannot play for more than 2 clubs in any one season? That's why Liverpool had a problem with what to do with Robbie Keane when they were trying to offload him after only 5/6 months - he could only go back to Spurs.

Vorm played in the Dutch club's first game of the season before transferring to Swansea. He can only play for Swansea or his former Dutch club this season.”

“make sure Jenkins signs Vorm and a few other key people like Brendan etc for at least 3 years.
Vorm was a bargain for £1.5 million.

Dorus was a FOOL to leave swansea for wolves, who are now at 18 pts and sold himself out to be on skysports every weekend by sitting on the bench and give Vorm this amazing opportunity to look impressive.

Let that be a lesson to any footballer at swansea who think they can just go somehwere else and get a better deal. If we can stay up this year, we're gonna develop very nicely as a team and ensure long term entry to this league in my opinion.

All the other clubs are in major debt, things are going to get tigther, so swansea are in a real good, real world position to do.”
