Visitors shell out in force at Mumbles Oyster Festival
SEAFOOD-LOVERS flocked to Mumbles this weekend for the village's first ever oyster festival.
The event, organised by the Mumbles Development Trust with funding from the Welsh Government, was designed to celebrate the heritage of fisheries in the area.
And the trust also hoped the new festival would put the village on the map, bringing in tourists from across the country.
The fishy weekend kicked off with a champagne and oyster bar on Friday, followed by cookery demonstrations, a boat display and other activities on Saturday.

And the festival was teeming with local producers such as the Gower Brewery, Cnwd Food, the Parsnip Ship and Coco Bean Wales.
But demand for the oysters was so high the festival quickly sold out of the seafood.
Dooley the Dragon, from the Bumbles of Mumbles, also paid a visit — with an Under the Sea themed parade taking place on the promenade on Saturday afternoon.
