Visitors flock to garden for antiques fair
A RECORD-breaking 6,800 visitors turned out over the weekend to see the exhibits on display at the Derwen Antiques Fair at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Llanarthne.
It featured a huge variety of Welsh antiques including 16th century Welsh furniture and a collection of Welsh pottery, as well as art and jewellery.
Besides the antiques, visitors were also able to enjoy the gardens including the attractions inside the Great Glasshouse where stalls were set up.
Admission to the attraction will be free for the rest of the month.

Fair organiser Brita Rogers said: "This is the first time they've held an event like this at the gardens.
"It was a huge success. The team at the National Botanic Garden were taken by surprise and everyone is thrilled with the turnout.
"There will be another Derwen Antiques Fair at the gardens next January and it will become an annual event."
David Hardy, spokesman from the garden, said it was an excellent day but there was some disruption caused by so many visitors.
He said: "We were rather caught out by such huge numbers on Saturday and, although we coped, we would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the long wait to get a car park space and for any disruption caused on the roads around the garden. There were a few jams for which we apologise but hopefully the sight of a full and busy garden would have been as much a reward for our friends, members and visitors as it was for us."
He added they may consider asking people to pay a small fee, say £2, at future events, to raise cash to help the garden.
