GARDEN Village Under-9s entered the Trostre Football Festival and produced another superb performance.

The first match was against Seaside. Jack Rees was outstanding in goal, but it was Alex McCumsky who broke out of defence with a solo run and drilled the ball past the keeper to open the scoring.

Matthew Davies added a second with a brilliant long-range strike, and Louis Davies netted a third with a cool finish from a Callum Evans through-ball for a 3-0 win.

The second game was against Calsonic. Kai Hopkins controlled the game from midfield and striker Jamie Burge up front was a constant threat, with Callum Evans pouncing on a rebound to tap in for a 1-0 victory.

Trostre were the opponents in match three. Alex McCumsky was outstanding in defence with numerous tackles, while Ejay Luggers showed his class and potential up front and came close to scoring many times.

Callum Evans volleyed a cracker to win it, latching onto a pinpoint cross from Louis Davies out wide.

Kai Hopkins went in goal for the fourth game against Loughor and showed what a versatile player he is with a fantastic performance.

Ejay Luggers opened the scoring with a cool finish to place the ball wide of the keeper, then midfielder Matthew Davies put Louis Davies through on goal to score his second of the day.

Match five was against Burry Port. Jack Rees in defence was solid and Jamie Burge excellent up front, but a wonderful strike from Matthew Davies claimed another 1-0 win.

The final game was against Penclawdd. Alex McCumsky was again superb in defence with the help of Kai Hopkins and Jack Rees.

Callum Evans and Louis Davies played brilliantly together up front, but it took a Jamie Burge through-ball for Jack Rees to hit home from long range to win it.
