Views on inlet plans
A NEW Burry Inlet cockle consultation is underway.
It is asking for views on plans to improve the management of the troubled cockle grounds, and follows an earlier one.
Dave Tavner, of Natural Resources Wales, said the last 10 years had been difficult for cocklers.
"Our management aims to create a sustainable fishery which can provide a regular income to licence holders," he said. "An important element of this is to ensure that the internationally important area for wildlife is protected and continues to provide for the over-wintering birds species that come here."
