Views on breeding practices
DOG owners are being encouraged to have their say on Welsh Government plans to raise dog breeding standards and clamp down on bad breeding practices in Wales.
An eight week public consultation has been launched by Natural Resources and Food Minister Alun Davies, following draft dog breeding regulations.
Swansea East AM Mike Hedges said: "Pets play an important part in any family life.
"That's why it's important that we get it right when it comes to protecting and promoting animal welfare without placing any unreasonable or unnecessary burdens on breeders or dog owners.
"I would encourage anyone with a dog or with an interest in animal welfare to get involved by sharing their thoughts with the Welsh Government via the consultation into dog breeding."
