A CARMARTHENSHIRE tourist attraction has again been named one of the top places to visit.

Llanarthne's National Botanic Garden of Wales chosen as the number one garden to visit in Wales in a special poll, conducted by BBC's Gardeners' World magazine.

The National Botanic Garden also scooped the most votes for Wales in the categories of best afternoon tea and most romantic garden.

The garden's head of marketing, David Hardy, said: "The news that we have retained the title of number one garden in Wales is a fantastic accolade and a wonderful birthday present in our 10th anniversary year.

"I'd like to thank everyone who voted for us and made us number one."
