VIDEO: Why everyone wants a slice of Michael Laudrup
IT seems everyone wants a slice of Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup.
Just this weekend it was reported that Laudrup and Gus Poyet were among a list of managers drawn up by Portuguese club Benfica.
Jorge Jesus was handed a new two-year contract in the summer, despite the club losing two cup finals and missing out on the league title.
But a national newspaper reported that contingency plans had been discussed if this season was no better.
Laudrup is claimed to be one of those contingencies.
The manager was at the centre of fierce speculation about his future during the summer with fears he might leave the club.
But his continued presence has been given by a number of new Swans signings, including Alvaro Vazquez, formerly of Getafe, as an important reason for them heading to Swansea.
With that in mind, here’s a reminder of just why Laudrup is so widely regarded.
