VIDEO: Merthyr Tydfil man drags shark away from children in Australia
The moment a man from South Wales dragged a six-foot shark by its tail away from nearby children in shallow water in Australia has been caught on camera.
Paul Marshallsea from Merthyr Tydfil said he was cooking a barbeque with his wife Wendy and daughter Rachel, 21, on Bulcock Beach in Queensland when he ran down to the shore after hearing screams of "shark."

The 62-year-old said his instincts took over and he grabbed the shark by its tail, before jumping out of the way when the animal lunged towards his leg.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: "We don't recommend manhandling sharks but this gentleman did a great job."

“Sharks don't eat people, they do bite us by mistake but we shouldn't punish them for mistakes made in THEIR territory.
Humans are mostly entirely safe from almost all wild animals & fish, being pray of none.
People have swum with sharks & crocodiles without problems, both apparently evil beasts!
Likewise we've been taught to be afraid of wolves who don't attack humans but their cousins, dogs, definitely do.

“I'm not sure if he is brave or foolish. But what i do know is that the killing of sharks is one the biggest threats to our oceans. Sharks tend to eat the larger fish, without sharks the number of large fish increases. The numbers of smaller fish being eaten is them increased many fold, leading to an eventual crash in their numbers and a corresponding crash in the larger fish as well. It's been estimated that there may be none or very few fish at all left in our oceans and seas's within 50 years. What a legacy that will be for our generation to leave, truly shameful.

Sharks kill several humans every year, but we are wiping out millions of them every month. Astonishingly, there are now thought to be just a few thousand Great White Sharks left on the planet. Some experts think there are just hundreds left. And of course our war doesn't stop at sharks. Across the globe our seas are under attack from pollution, over-fishing and climate change. Time and again on my journey around our third largest ocean I heard from local fishermen, conservationists and scientists that fish numbers are in catastrophic decline.”
