VIDEO: Llanelli's Sam Evans wins Big Brother
SAM Evans is bringing the Big Brother crown home to Llanelli.
The 23-year-old won the show and £100,000 prize money last night after beating off fellow contestant Dexter in the final two.
Discussing the win live on the show, Sam said: "I can't believe it. I'm lost for words.
"I'm trying to think of a comparison but I can't. I'm shaking. I just can't believe it."
Sam was born with 70-80 per cent hearing loss and entered the house with the hope of being an inspiration to others.
Asked what he plans to do with the money, he revealed that he will give 25 per cent to charity, 25 per cent to his family and friends and invest the remaining 50 per cent to secure his future.
Eight of Sam’s closest mates and fellow footballers gathered at The Dimpath pub in Llanelli — the place they stop off after playing football.
They admitted that the atmosphere was tense, but that they went “bonkers” when Sam was officially announced as the winner of the Channel 5 show.
One of his friends and fellow West End footballer, Jake Woods, 19, of Llanelli said: “Words can not describe how proud of Sam we are, the boys reaction up the pub was amazing.
“He’s not only done us proud. But every one of us Turks and the whole of Wales. He has been such an inspiration to people and we are so happy for him, we honestly cant wait to see him.
“Big Brother Champion 2013 and well deserved. We love you to bits mate.”
