VIDEO: Laudrup hails Shelvey's character
MICHAEL Laudrup paid tribute to Jonjo Shelvey after Swansea City fought back to draw 2-2 with Liverpool.
Shelvey scored after just 87 seconds against his former club, gave away an equaliser moments later and then saw his side go 2-1 down after his wayward pass.
But he recovered after the break and it was his flick that gave Michu the chance to equalise in the 64th minute.
Swansea boss Laudrup told Sky Sports: “He went from heaven to hell in a couple of minutes. And we have to remember he’s only 21 years old.
“I think he did great in the second half and he will become stronger because his reaction was great.
“I think it was a great performance in the second half after a difficult first half.
“It was a great start, but we gave away two goals and lost some easy balls in midfield.
“We had to perform better in the second half and I think the boys did an excellent job.
“I’m pleased with the result and especially the second half.
On Michu, who bagged his first league goal of the season, he said: “Michu is much more than a goalscorer. He likes to score but he’s much more than that.”
