VIDEO: Hundreds of car enthusiasts gather for Harlem Shake in Baglan
It is the internet dance sensation that is sweeping the world — and now it has arrived in South West Wales.
The Harlem Shake craze sees big groups of people dancing wildly for the camera — and posting the clips online.

And when hundreds of car enthusiasts gathered in Baglan Industrial Park for a Cruise Swansea meeting, a smash-hit video was born.
The clip has been viewed almost 11,000 times in recent days.

On the Cruise Swansea Facebook page, users are encouraged to share the video and “show them how the Welsh do it!”
Harlem Shake videos usually follow the same pattern — the clips last around 30 seconds and feature an excerpt from the song “Harlem Shake” by Baauer.
They start with one person — often helmeted or wearing a mask — dancing alone to the song for 15 seconds surrounded by other people not paying attention to the dancer; then the video cuts to the entire crowd dancing with wild abandon.
Thousands of clips of groups of people dancing have been uploaded to the web in recent weeks as the craze sweeps around the world.
South Wales Police said they attended the event in Baglan on Sunday night following reports of a “significant” number of vehicles gathering.
A spokesman said a number of vehicles and drivers were reported for summons for road traffic offence.
He added: “This was an unofficial gathering which officers are trying to discourage.”

“I was at this gathering and filmed part of this video and can say it was a really great night where everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves. As with any large group there were a few that let the side down (ie one or two people did donuts and a few people left some rubbish behind) but overall the gathering was to share our knowledge of cars and meet other people in the scene.
We did no damage to the area and were there purely for a bit of good clean fun! Would be nice to have a designated place to go, but the councils have only just caught onto the idea of skate parks, so car parks are probably out of the question..”

“As long as there was no trouble let them gather there and have FUN, when we see gangs of youths we think the worst, give them some space and they will give us some respect. RESPECT”
