Utility giant hands jobs to 20 new apprentices
WELSH Water has taken on 20 new apprentices from throughout Wales and Herefordshire.
The utility giant has significantly upped the number of apprentices taken on this year in comparison to last year, where it hired just 11 youngsters.
Welsh Water managing director Nigel Annett said: "We invest billions of pounds in long-term assets, but just as important is the recruitment, training and development of the people to operate them."
Mr Annett said Welsh Water will always need highly-skilled and very experienced people.

“20 apprentices. This is a fraction of the number of apprentices the old Water Boards used to take on each year in the 1970's. Almost everything is "subbed out" now by the utilities, that's why things take so long to fix.”
