THE prospect of a new college campus is not the only educational boost for Neath Port Talbot or for Swansea Bay.

Swansea University has now had outline planning permission for revised plans for its multi-million pound new campus at Fabian Way.

Although proposed by the city university, and its partner St Modwen, the site actually falls within Neath Port Talbot.

The university has said it is making good progress and talks are continuing with the Welsh Government and with Europe.

Meanwhile, Gower College Swansea is believed to have made moves to snap up the Hill House Hospital site in Cockett at a cost in excess of £2 million.

It has campuses in Tycoch and Gorseinon and had been searching for a city centre venue -— partly to attract students from Swansea East.

The college has around 12,500 students and 1,100 staff and wants to widen the education it offers.
