AN uninsured teenager whose Toyota MR2 had a "seriously dangerous and defective" tyre lost control of his car and struck a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, killing both drivers.

Zohiab Ahmed Waqas, aged 19, and Suzuki Grand Vitara driver John Read, aged 49, suffered serious injuries and died shortly afterwards at Morriston Hospital.

A number of family members attended yesterday's inquest where details of the fatal collision on Cwmbach Road, between Cockett and Waunarlwydd, on July 14 last year were revealed.

It emerged that Mr Waqas, who would have celebrated his 20th birthday the day after the crash, had recently been charged with driving without insurance and was due to appear at Swansea Magistrates Court in August 2008.

Coroner Philip Rogers said: "It makes it incumbent on us all that tyres on our vehicles are regularly checked.

"But for the defect on that tyre we would not be sat here this afternoon."

“Well said Galavanto, Burhan seems to forget there were two people killed here. He won't change my feelings on this subject, in fact I am more determined to ignore this so called peaceful religion.”

“Isn't this an indictment on how our multicultural society is working(not)?
The compassionate, religious, Mr. Burhan has had not one word of sympathy for the unfortunate Mr. Reed and his family. No call for his allah to care for the soul of Mr.Reed!
    Further, the vehicle (MR2)
should never have been released from police seizure until after the trial of Waqas, and certainly not in a defective, unroadworthy condition.
My heartfely sympathy to the real innocent victims of this tragedy...Mr John Reed & Family.”

“Burhan - you have seriously lost the plot by talking about brainwashing and allah.

If allah was so almighty and powerful and can decree someones death why is it so many muslims break the laws of allah and drink, somoke and fornicate. Surely if allah was so all seeing - out of fear they would make sure they were good muslims at all times.

Religion is an age old excuse used to bring about sympathy - well not in this case.

This entry is from a law abiding non - racist Welshwoman.”

“My intention is not to brainwash.

Who are you to say anything about him then? Yes, a burnout isn't dangerous at all. "Oh look at me, i have an m3"

He wasn;t foolish at all, there was a problem with the tire, get your facts right people!

As a matter of fact, there is no time of place. I can do it anywhere, anytime, anyplace”

“EP - YOU SHOULD REMOVE THE COMMENTS REGARDING RELIGION WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT, MYSELF AND MANY OTHER MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE EFFECTED BY THIS. THIS ARTICLE IS ABOUT A VERY FOOLISH BOY WHO DIDNT HAVE INSURANCE AND KILLED HIS SELF AND AN INNOCENT MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC. NOTHING ABOUT RELIGION.

BURHAN - THERE IS A TIME AND A PLACE FOR YOU TO SAY PRAYERS FOR YOUR FRIEND, A BRITISH LOCAL PAPER IS NOT THE PLACE. GO TO YOUR LOCAL MOSQUE.”
