Turnaround as troubled factory now seeks staff
A LLANELLI factory that was facing closure and received a last-ditch reprieve is now advertising for new staff.
German bosses had proposed the closure of the ThyssenKrupp plant (Camford Pressings) in Felinfoel last April.

But in January, the company announced around 180 workers' jobs at the car parts factory had been saved — for a year at least.
Now vacancies for maintenance technicians, maintenance fitters, production controllers and production team leaders have been advertised by the company.
The advert, in the Post, states: "Due to potential new business and expansion, ThyssenKrupp Tallent, Llanelli, a leading manufacturer of pressings and assemblies for the automotive industry, have long-term temporary positions available."
ThyssenKrupp announced earlier this year that it was closing its plant at Bourn, near Cambridge, with the transfer of work to other sites.
Llanelli MP Nia Griffith welcomed news of the remarkable turnaround.
She said: "It's good to see the company has recognised the tremendous potential here in Llanelli with the long tradition of automotive skills in our community and the extensive premises at Felinfoel. I'm delighted the company has recognised the potential for bringing more work to Llanelli."
She has met the German company's directors in the UK and Germany to press the case for the Llanelli plant.
"I obviously advocated very strongly for Llanelli, saying it's not very far away; pointing out to them how quick the journey is on good roads now from Llanelli to the big automotive centres in the Midlands," she said.
Company spokeswoman Sue Boulton said: "Hopefully some of the work will be transferred from the Bourn plant down to Llanelli."
She said the company might be able to comment further in a few weeks.
