'Tumour' man admits fraud
A MAN who faked having a brain tumour has admitted three further charges of fraud.
Gareth Wyn Francis (left), aged 30, had already pleaded guilty to defrauding Michael Morgan, Pastor John Ifion Watkins and Melanie Coombs at an earlier hearing at Swansea Crown Court but three further charges have now been put to him.
He has now also admitted fraud by falsely representing himself to Janet Rainey, Mary Jenkins and an unknown number of members of the public.
Francis had told the individuals he needed money to pay for private treatment for a brain tumour.
Francis was due to be sentenced for the offences but his barrister, Paul Hobson, said a psychiatric report which was required to be prepared about Francis was not ready.
Francis, of Clos Cilsaig in Dafen, was given bail to appear back at the court in November for sentencing.
