Trust explores plan for badger vaccine
BADGERS could be vaccinated on National Trust-owned land in Wales.
The trust owns parts of Gower and Dinefwr Park, Llandeilo, among other spots in South Wales, and is working with the Welsh Government to tackle bovine tuberculosis.
The announcement follows a badger vaccination programme which is under way in a designated area in West Wales.
Environment Minister John Griffiths said: "At the last count we had vaccinated more than 430 badgers and the programme will continue well into the autumn.

"I am delighted that the National Trust is keen to work with us to explore potential for badger vaccination on its land."
Welsh Government and National Trust staff will now consider how best to take forward the proposals.
Justin Albert, director of the trust in Wales, said: "We are very aware of the devastating effects of bovine TB on farmers and have been working hard to find ways to protect herds, livelihoods, rural communities and wildlife."
