Trundle: I'd love to come back to Swans

LEE Trundle has revealed his desire to return to Swansea

City before seeing his career out.

The former Swansea striker left the Liberty Stadium last

year in a £1million move to Championship outfit Bristol City

following four seasons in South Wales.

Fans' favourite Trundle saw his new club miss out on Premier

League football after losing to Hull City in the play-off final

at Wembley while Swansea won the League One title.

The two clubs go head-to-head this season with Swansea

heading to Bristol on December 6.

The 31-year-old, though, has failed to replicate his form at

Ashton Gate.

Trundle scored just six goals from 41 appearances last

season and has made just two appearance off the bench this term

as manager Gary Johnson has favoured £2.25million summer

signing Nicky Maynard and Dele Adebola.

"I'd definitely like to go back to Swansea at some point of

my career," Trundle told the Evening Post.

"It's a club where I had great years playing football so

there's no reason why I wouldn't want to go back. It's a team

that I love."

He added: "In football it's hard to talk in terms of when

things will happen, so I don't know if I would move back in the

short term."

A return to Swansea would depend on a number of factors.

Firstly, Bristol City would want to recoup a majority of the

fee they splashed out on Trundle, while his wages would also be

a likely stumbling block.

With Jason Scotland topping the League One scoring charts

last season, along with the wealth of options in the striking

department, a return may seem unlikely.

To further quash a possible return, Swansea announced in the

summer that they would no longer deal with Neil Sang —

Trundle's agent — following Andy Robinson's switch to Leeds

United in May.

Tickets for Swansea City's away matches at Reading

(September 27) and Preston (September 30) will go on sale from

Monday.

Swansea have been given an initial allocation of 1,500

tickets for the game at Reading but a further 2,500 will be

made available if required while the club has 1,001 tickets for

the game at Preston.

All tickets will go straight on general sale but sales are

limited to just four per applicant.

“He's not good enough for Bristol and he's no longer good enough for the Swans, maybe you ought to try Wrexham Lee?”

“I would have him back, he's only 32 and still has the skill, form is temporary, class is permanent.”
