ONLY three ties survived in the fourth round of the Swalec Bowl on Saturday.

Penlan, leaders of division four south west, squeezed home 17-14 at Trimsaran, who are fourth in four west.

Trimsaran led 7-3 at half-time and increased that advantage to 14-3, with lock Lee Thomas and right wing Ioan Jones the try scorers.

Lee Bates converted both Trimsaran touchdowns.
