Transport workers stage industrial action against DVLA office closure plans
TRANSPORT workers in Swansea joined colleagues from across the country in striking against plans to close DVLA local offices.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union working at the Agency's local office in Swansea yesterday took part in industrial action.
A spokesman for the union confirmed the one day strike was in response to the plan to close all 39 DVLA regional offices by the end of next year.
The DVLA is predicting closure of the local offices could result in a £26 million year on year saving for the taxpayer.
