Colleagues in regional offices across the country took part in industrial action yesterday.
DVLA workers, non-examiner staff in the Driving Standards Agency and other staff from the Department for Transport went on strike between 2pm and 5pm as part of the latest in a month of rolling action in the transport sector.
The action followed a month of strikes in June among PCS's 8,000 Department for Transport members designed to complement an ongoing national campaign against cuts to pensions, jobs and pay, which included a strike across the civil service, health and education sectors on May 10.
No workers at the Swansea regional office took part in yesterday's walk out.
DVLA regional offices in Cardiff and Bangor were closed as part of yesterday's action.
It is expected around 450 regional office workers will re-locate to the DVLA headquarters in Swansea.
The regional offices across the UK from Inverness to Norwich and Exeter will be closed at the end of 2013.
They carry out a range of administrative functions such as arranging trade plates for garages, and vehicle inspections.
